Homecoming Information

Football Game: Friday, September 18 at 6 pm vs. Marriotts Ridge.

    Student & Spectator Expectations
    All HCPSS rules, policies, and expectations remain in effect during athletic contests. Athletic events are considered an extension of the school day, and we expect our students and spectators to represent Howard High School with pride and good sportsmanship.
    Please remember:

    • Students in 8th grade or younger must be accompanied and supervised by an adult for the entire event.
    • Students should be prepared to provide proof of current high school enrollment.
    • Spectators should remain in the designated spectator areas throughout the contest.
    • Please arrange transportation so students are picked up promptly following the game.
    • There is no re-entry once a spectator leaves the stadium.
    • Smoking, vaping, alcohol, marijuana, and other prohibited substances are not permitted on school property.
    • Outside food and beverages are not permitted in the stadium.
    • Ball playing and horseplay by spectators are not permitted.
    • Spectators may not enter the playing field or team areas before, during, or following the contest.
    • No backpacks are permitted in the stadium during the contest.

      Sportsmanship
      Howard High School takes great pride in creating a positive game-day environment.

    • We ask all spectators to show respect toward our student-athletes, coaches, officials, cheerleaders, band members, visiting teams, and fellow fans.
    • Please cheer for our Lions without directing negative comments toward opponents, officials, coaches, or other spectators. Profanity, harassment, throwing objects, or other disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
    • HCPSS athletic events are meant to bring our community together, and we appreciate everyone's help in making Howard a welcoming place for all who attend.

Parade: Saturday, September 19 at  9:30 am

  • Howard's parade will start at Blade Green Lane and continue onto Phelps Luck Drive before turning right onto Rt.108 and finishing at Howard HS.  
  • Please be aware: these streets will be closed during this time and will reopen shortly after the parade finishes.  
  • Let's show some community spirit and be outside on a beautiful September day to cheer on Howard's various teams, clubs, and student organizations! 

Tailgate: Saturday, September 19 

  • Following the parade, we will turn the Senior Lot into a tailgate. 
  • Floats should pull straight into the lot.
  • Let's have some fun before Powder Puff starts. 

Powder Puff Football Game: Saturday, September 19 at 11:30 am

  • Girls from each grade will compete in two 25-minute flag football games to crown a champion. 
  • All student and spectator expectations apply.

Dance: Saturday, September 19 from 7-10 pm

  • We are very excited to see those who purchased tickets for the Homecoming Dance this Saturday, September 19. 
  •  We will not distribute physical tickets  
  • Student IDs have not yet arrived for the current school year, so students and guests will be asked to show their Synergy profile on their phone to check in.  
  • Doors will open at 6:55 pm at the MAIN ENTRANCE.  
  • A "fast pass" line at the Auditorium entrance is available for the winning grade of the Homecoming competition (announced through Canvas on Saturday at 2 pm following the Powder Puff game).  
  • Please ensure that rides are secure for the 10 pm pick up.  Students who are not picked up in a timely manner may run the risk of being prohibited from attending future school events.  
  • This is a school event and all Code of Conduct and HCPSS policies apply.  Be safe, have fun.
