Description

MBHS exists to bridge the gap between youth and the small business community across Maryland by empowering high school students to develop entrepreneurial and business leadership skills while supporting local small businesses through service, education, and innovation.

• MBHS shall be established in high schools across Maryland with the following goals:
  Support Small Businesses through student-led marketing projects, fundraising, and community collaboration.
• Promote Financial Literacy by hosting workshops and inviting guest speakers from the business world.
• Encourage Youth Entrepreneurship through chapter-run initiatives, competitions, and mentorship opportunities.
• Foster Business Education and Professionalism via leadership training, resume-building sessions, and peer networking.
• Give Back to the Community by aligning business learning with local impact.

National Art Honor Society is a nationally recognized organization that celebrates excellence and service.  Students in this organization excel in their classes and work together to prepare for and provide enrichment activities to the community.

National Art Honors Society is an organization that emphasizes service to the community through the arts.  Students host events to engage the school and community in the arts such as Coffeehouse and Empty Bowls, and help beautify Howard's halls and walls.

Quill and Scroll International Honorary Society for High School Journalists was organized April 10, 1926, at the University of Iowa by renowned pollster George H. Gallup and a group of high school advisers for the purpose of encouraging and recognizing individual student achievement in journalism and scholastic publication.

Since its founding, school charters have been granted to almost 15,000 high schools in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and 37 countries. Media advisers in chartered schools are eligible to recommend outstanding high school journalism students for membership in Quill and Scroll International Honorary Society.

We encourage, support and recognize individual student initiative and achievement in scholastic journalism, regardless the medium.

Tri-M (Modern Music Masters) is the music honor society affiliated with NAfME.  Membership criteria for high school chapters typically include: demonstrated musical achievement (ensemble participation, auditions, juries), minimum GPA, teacher recommendation, and a commitment to service and leadership.  We aim to 

• Recognize and honor high school students for musical achievement, scholarship, and service.
• Develop student leadership, character, and civic responsibility through music-focused projects.
