The fall sports season begins on August 11th. Effective immediately, and continuing through the first quarter, students are eligible to participate in fall athletics and extracurricular activities for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year if they: Maintain a 2.0 grade-point average (GPA), calculated using credit or non-credit courses, and have no more than one failing grade, OR Have been promoted to the next grade level or higher. This adjustment will expire at the end of the fall season of the 2021-2022 school year.
Beginning with the winter season, students must meet the following standards in order to remain eligible to participate in extracurricular activities: Maintain a 2.0 grade-point average (GPA), calculated using credit or non-credit courses, AND
have no more than one failing grade for the marking period which governs eligibility for that activity. All incoming 9th graders are academically eligible for the fall athletic season only.
All 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders will need the following:
Current physical: Howard County policy requires every athlete to have a physical exam dated after April 1, 2021 in order to try out for any high school sport for the school year 2021-2022.

All athletes must register before August 10, 2021, to participate in the Fall Season Tryouts.
All student-athletes must be insured.
