Hey Lions! Did you know it is Hispanic Heritage Month? Hispanic Heritage Month is from September 15th to October 15th has been celebrated since the 1960s in recognition of the many positive contributions of Hispanics in the US. The month was chosen because many Latin American countries celebrate their independence during these weeks! Many people don’t know that we have a big Hispanic population here at Howard. In addition, well-known celebrities like Lin Manuel Miranda, Jennifer Lopez and important figures like Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor are also Hispanic! Throughout this month, don’t be afraid to ask any questions about the Hispanic culture, check out the posters of famous Latinos around the school!
