Any student wishing to tryout for Baseball, Boys and Girls Lacrosse, or Softball has the OPTION to take a baseline concussion testing prior to the first day of tryouts on March 1, 2018.
The test is no longer required for tryouts.
ImPACT concussion baseline test is a test of cognitive function including memory and reaction time. The purpose of the testing is to determine normal brain function levels that later can be used to help determine when it is appropriate for the athlete to safely return to play in the event of a head injury. Even if a student is considering trying out for a winter sport, he/she should take advantage of testing. If a student does not take the ImPACT test prior to trying out, it could jeopardize his/her chances of making the team. Testing must be completed at Howard High School.
ImPACT concussion testing will take place on Monday February 26 and Wednesday February 28 in the Media Center Lab
